Paracas National Reserve itineray
Itinerary
We’ll meet you in the Port of Chaco in Paracas at the agreed-upon time for a tour of Paracas National Reserve, a protected area boasting a variety of ecosystems. Traveling by bus, we’ll spend three hours admiring the changing colors and tones of the dunes, rock formations, and cliffs of this beautiful seaside desert. Along the way, we’ll make stops at spectacular lookouts which overlook the desert, forests, and ocean, such as the Cathedral (thus named because it resembled a medieval castle, but damaged some years ago in an earthquake).
Each of the crystalline beaches we’ll visit has its own distinct characteristics, and are home to thousands of resident and migratory bird species. We’ll make a longer stop at Lagunillas to allow you to have lunch while enjoying the picturesque scenes filled with pelicans and other birds, and local fishing boats.
We’ll visit the small site museum as well in order to learn about the flora and fauna that we’ll see throughout the park.
